Located 80 km northwest of Tasmania, Australia, at 40 ° S, King Island is a small island with a population of 1,500 and an area of 1,100 km2. The largest city is Currie and the main industries are cattle farming, fisheries and tourism. Maximum temperature never exceeds 30 degrees even in summer, so the grass is green all year around. King Island is a very unique place unlike anywhere else in the world. Unlike traditional grassfed where the cattle eat grass grown in the wild and different varities of grass according to season, pasture fed beef are fed with grass of high nutritional value (clover, ryegrass etc.) by controlling the growth of the grass from seeding. This is the new standard of grassfed beef to ensure the finest quality beef. Grass on King Island farms are highly nutritious and contain about 110 megajoules (heat) and about 16% protein per kilogram.

Traditional Grass Fed

Grown mainly in the Northwest area of Australia where temperature are high and low rainfall. Heat resistant cattle varieties are mainly grown in these regions.
